Privacy Policy

This policy says what personal information Saltydog Research collects, why we collect it, who receives it, and how you can access, correct, delete, or opt out. It applies to saltydogresearch.com and to orders and messages placed through this store. Last updated October 28, 2026.

Privacy requests go to info@saltydogresearch.com. Order notices go to orders.saltydogresearch@gmail.com. Business address: Saltydog Research, 3805 Fosberg Rd, Turlock, California 95382.

Personal information we collect

We collect the following categories, and only when you give them to us or they are created by using the site:

  • Identifiers: name, email address, phone number, institution, and account sign-in identifier.
  • Commercial information: products viewed in your cart, order number, items, quantities, prices, discount codes, research-use attestation, and buyer status.
  • Shipping and contact details: street address, city, region, postal code, country, and any note you type on an order or the contact form.
  • Account credentials: email and a password. The password is stored only as a hash. If you use Google sign-in, Google sends us the name and email that account shares. We do not receive your Google password.
  • Payment details you choose to send. We do not store card numbers. PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, Cash App, and NOWPayments receive the payment on their own pages when that method is turned on. An ACH authorization, when that option is on, includes account-holder name, routing number, account number, and account type. That authorization is emailed to orders.saltydogresearch@gmail.com and is not saved in this site’s database.
  • Customer-list records: name, email, phone, institution, shipping address, order history, order totals, and a do-not-email flag if you ask us not to write you.
  • Device storage: cart contents, the age and research-use acknowledgement, and copies of order confirmations you submitted in this browser. A sign-in session cookie, or a short-lived session token in this browser, keeps you signed in.

We do not collect government ID, precise geolocation, health information, or biometric data. We do not run advertising pixels, and we do not buy personal information from data brokers.

Why we collect it

  • Create and secure your research account, including password reset.
  • Take, confirm, ship, and keep a record of a research-reagent order.
  • Confirm the order is for laboratory research use and not for human or veterinary use.
  • Show the payment instructions for the method you select.
  • Reply to a contact message or an order question.
  • Keep a private customer list so we can find an order and honor a do-not-email request.
  • Detect fraud, disputed payments, and misuse of the catalog.
  • Keep tax and accounting records for orders we actually fulfilled.

We do not use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not sell it for money or other valuable consideration.

Who receives it

  • Saltydog Research, at the address above, in info@saltydogresearch.com, and in orders.saltydogresearch@gmail.com.
  • FormSubmit, which relays the contact form, order email, and password-reset email. The message content is in that email.
  • The payment company you choose: PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, Cash App, or NOWPayments. They receive what you submit on their page, under their own policy. We receive a payment status, not your card number or wallet keys.
  • Google, only if you choose Google sign-in.
  • A shipping carrier, such as FedEx, receives the name, address, and phone needed to deliver a paid order.

We do not sell personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We disclose it only to run the order, the account, or a request you make.

How long we keep it

  • Cart, gate flag, and local order copies stay in this browser until you clear site data.
  • A password-reset link expires one hour after it is sent.
  • Account data stays until you ask us to delete the account or we close it.
  • Order and customer-list records stay as long as we need them to ship, handle a payment dispute, and meet tax and accounting duties, then we delete or de-identify them.
  • ACH numbers are not stored on this site. They remain only in the email inbox that received the authorization.

Cookies and on-device storage

We use essential storage only: a session cookie or token so a signed-in researcher stays signed in, and browser storage for the cart, the research-use gate, and local order confirmations. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. You can clear this site’s data in your browser. That deletes the cart, the gate flag, and local confirmations. It does not delete the order record we already received.

Your privacy rights

If you live in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, or another state with a consumer privacy law, you can ask us to:

  • Know and access the personal information we have about you, including the categories, the sources, the purpose, and the categories of parties who received it.
  • Correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Delete personal information, subject to records we must keep for a completed order, a dispute, fraud prevention, or tax and accounting.
  • Opt out of sale or sharing of personal information, and opt out of targeted advertising. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising. You can still send the request and we will confirm that.
  • Limit use of sensitive personal information to what is necessary to take your order, secure your account, and prevent fraud. Sensitive information here means a password hash and, if you use ACH, bank account and routing numbers.
  • Get a copy of your information in a portable form when a state law requires it.
  • Appeal a refusal. Reply to our decision and write “Privacy appeal” in the subject. We answer the appeal within 45 days. If we still refuse, you may contact your state attorney general.

We will not charge a different price, refuse an order, or provide a different level of service because you exercised a privacy right, unless the difference is reasonably related to the value of the data and a law allows it. We do not offer a financial incentive in exchange for personal information.

How to send a request

Email info@saltydogresearch.com with the subject “Privacy request”. Include your name, the email on the account or order, the state where you live, and which right you want: access, correction, deletion, opt-out of sale or share, limit sensitive information, or appeal. An authorized agent may email for you if the message includes your signed permission and enough information for us to verify you.

We match the email to the account or the order before we release or change information. We respond within 45 days. If we need more time, we will tell you why and may take one further 45 days. If we deny a request, we will say why and how to appeal.

California residents may also use this same email for a Shine the Light request. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing.

Children

This catalog is for qualified researchers and licensed laboratories. You must be 21 or older to pass the gate. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe we have, email info@saltydogresearch.com and we will delete it.
